Basic Grey Challenge #28 - Happy Easter Angus

Easter card for my little brother Angus - I'm sure he won't worry about the pink on it!
This card was made using the layout on this weeks Basic Grey Challenge - I am a very
big fan of Basic Grey papers and products. I have used papers from the Two Scoops range and rub ons from the cupcake range. I designed and cut the tartan two scoops paper ribon on my Pazzles. The eggs are also designed and cut on the Pazzles and then painted with Tim Holtz crackle effect paint and edges inked. The Bird and Branch are Quickcutz dies cut in glitter and pearlescent card. The flowers and leaves are hand coloured leather cut from a cuttlebug die and then attached with bright brads. Rub ons are added at bottom and then sentiment written in turquoise Sakura pen.

Some of the Easter cards I have been working on for family and friends.
Using DCWV papers, Basic Grey Rub ons and buttons

Alisons Sister is 40.....

These cards were both designed for my good friend Alison to give her sister on her big 40.....

The sister one is from Alison and her husband and takes the form of a word book style. I cut the letters on my Pazzles and aaded then to the pages in sets of two to keep the bulk down, I am still loving using all the georgeous Basic Grey papers and this also uses some of their stickers.

The second card is to give to Aunty Heather from
Alisons kids. Again using Basic Grey Papers but this time focusing around the 40 which also is cut on the pazzles. Aunty Heather is added using Sakura pens and the rest are Basic Grey rub ons. Finnished with some fab gem brads.

Easter cards - Trimcraft Spring challenge

For the Challenge on Trimcraft - A Spring Project - I decided
to make a start on some Easter cards, one for my Mum & Dad and one for my husband Reuben. For both cards I used an A4 piece of card to make a gatefold blank. The tree/flower and the nest are made from Grungeboard with crackle paint finnish and inked edges. The nest holds the card shut with ribbon through card and nest. The birds and branches (inked round edges) are Quickcutz dies - I love that woodland range!
Reubens card has some Basic Grey cupcake rub ons and then is finnished with Sakura doodles. Mum and Dads card has some small die cut flowers set with brads and die cut leaves, and finnished with Sakura doodles.

Had great fun doing a Happy 30th Birthday card. I love Basic Grey papers and these were lovely to work with. I cut the 30 and Lorna using my Pazzles. The large flower came as part of a cardmaking kit as did the rub ons. www.docrafts.co.uk have some great offers on Basic Grey - so I have enough papers (if that is ever possible) to keep me going for a while!

Some friends have asked me to make them some
Mothers Day cards. Once again had alot of fun with Tim Holtz crackle paint on grungeboard. the green card has the flowers attached to a printed acetate wrap.

The orange card has the flowers layered with
silk flowers and then attached onto a printed vellum wrap. I attached the flowers with eyelets in centres. The sentiment is handwritten with Sakura pen.

The lilac card is a printed acetate wrap again joined down spine of card with eyelets. The flowers are imitation silk flowers attached to acetate with eyelet through centre. The stems of the flowers are crackle painted grungeboard. Sentiment is handwritten on card base under acetate wrap.

Golfing card.

I was asked to create a 60th birthday card for a golfer this week. I loved the DCWV grass photo effect paper so decided to base it arround this. I used my pazzles to cut the George and 60th - added some distressing to papers and ink to edges. Grass was made using Grungeboard and Tim Holtz Crackle paint. Not a big fan of peel offs but added a few wee golf balls and words. Mounted on some great dark green pearlescent card ....

"Dip'n'Doodle"

Another couple of projects that I have on the go at the moment. I am working on a set of storage jars for my kitchen. We are lucky enough to have a ceramic painting studio locally. I am really enjoying my evening spent there doing something a bit different. I have also worked in the studio a couple of days and have found that great fun and very interesting. There is a good mix of adults and children that come to Dip'n'Doodle and everyone seems to enjoy it!

Another project I am working on is a tea towel fundraiser for Largs Pre-School. Both my boys have gone there for nursery and I am a big fan! I have been in nursery two days having alot of fun with the children painting hands and the teachers fingers. So far it seems to have been recieved well and the orders have been good(all profits to nursery). It will seem strange after being there daily for the last 4 years to take a year out - Hope won't be old enough to start until 2010. I am a big fan of voluntary nurseries and I firmly believe ours is wonderful!

It's a start!

This is my first adventure into the world of blogging so please bear with me....I am hoping to have somewhere friends and family and hopefully new friends will be able to see what I am working on. I really meant to start this after my wonderful husband Reuben bought me a Pazzles for my Christmas. For those of you who don't know a Pazzles is a very clever piece of equiptment that allows me to draw an image - convert to a cutting file - and then cut out the image in a huge range of different materials, aswell as drawing, embossing, engraving and many other techniques. I should at this point add that although i have had my machine for over two months I still class myself as very much a learner! This first card was one of my very first efforts for a 40 something year old friend Ross who is toadally cool. The first cards I am showing have all been done in the last few months using in part the Pazzles.

These are pictures of my husbands Valentines card. Using the pazzles to create a heart lace style paper as a wrap and glass heart beads added - one for each year we have been together. They are on a very heavy glitter card with an appeture cut in the card base and a bronze perlescent liner.

Upsy Daisy was created for Aunty Daisy and I really had alot of fun doing this one - the hair proved to be a bit of a challenge to get right. The Night Garden is a big hit with Hope aged 21 months so I can see us gradually working with all the characters.
These are pictures of my Mothers Day card which also uses some great paint that I had only just discovered and love it! The shapes are all cut once more on the Pazzles but this time using Grungeboard. They are then painted with Tim Holtz crackle effect paint, edges sanded and inked. Built into flowers with the help of some eyelets( I use alot of eyelets - I love them and my crop-a-dile). The Card base is made up using lilac card and an orange floral printed acatate joined at spine with eyelets. After the grungeboard flowers were added, I also attached button centres to the flowers with ribbon. Adding a rub on sentiment and some more tiny flowers and hearts. Well thats a start.........................
