Select Sundays are back!.....Pat Butler - artist and feltmaker

We are back with select Sunday's
and this week it's the very lovely
Pat Butler.

Pat moved to Caithness 4 years ago rekindling her love of painting.
Pat enjoys working in Watercolours and Mixed Media,
but has now found "Felted Art"

I believe it is easy to see Pat's background as
a painter in her wonderful felted pictures.
The perspective and approach to laying out her felt pieces
are very painterly indeed.

Pat tells me she loves to "paint" with wool
and the wonderful colours you can achieve.

I am impressed with the amount of movement Pat
captures in her landscapes.

Anyone familiar with Caithness will know she is capturing
the essence of the area with it's wonderful colour
and those windswept trees!

Pat is showing at Thurso and Golspie Art Shows
Both at the local High Schools
23rd July - 2nd August.

Also showing in Wick
November 14th - 16th.

Pat can be reached at thebutlers@hotmail.co.uk

I love this stormy seascape, which very cleverly uses Mulberry bark to
create the breaking waves.....WOW!
