Wonderful day just spent in the sun around our

holiday home

at Dunmuck Mill

Then back home this week and it's back to work

and play for me!

We're back - great holiday .....but bah humbug!

Well what can I say!

It was a fabulous holiday.

A really beautiful part of Scotland

with some great buildings.

We were very lucky with the visitors every morning.

As you can see the weather was brilliant!

But what is going on with Royal mail!!!!!!

Just returned to find my parcel costs have pretty much doubled

and yet they have halved the insurance cover....

first class is only covered to £20 now!

I am feeling quite peeved for my customers.

Off on our Holidays!

We are sooooo excited to heading off on our holidays

to The Mill at Dunmuck

in Dumfries and Galloway

and we really hope to see some of these....

Never stayed in this part of Dumfries and Galloway before

will tell you what it's like on our return next week!

It's a bit of a mad rush

Today I have had a wonderful day dying

Mulberry Bark.

Just about unpacked all our goodies from the

show on Sunday and started to list some of it

at our Hope Jacare Ebay shop

I really liked the new jester coloured 

Fabulous Felting packs we did

It's a bit of a mad rush as we are going

away for a family holiday on Saturday

and I can tell you I am

so looking forward to it!

The show will go on!

We will be at the craft show today....

Cardwell bay garden centre, Lunderston bay, Gourock!

10a.m. - 4p.m.

Car packed and let me tell you it's fit to burst!

Rita - Vicky and Me!

It's a snow pig.....that's what they tell me!

Yep they have been busy building a

Snow pig......

well what else can you do on a day like this!

It's still snowing!

This is bizarre, we are on the west coast with

the effects of the gulf stream......we never get this!

The view out out bedroom window below 

shows the snow on the trees.

Reuben has just kindly walked orders to post office.

There is no chance of getting my car out and I'll

be so disappointed if we have to cancel tomorrows show.

Oh my....not what we expect!

We're just not used to this.....

kids are hoping school is cancelled!

As you can see still snowing and

happy children as school closed.

Although Hope was crying when we received

the text as she rather likes school, 

so Mum had to take them all out a short walk in it!

Time for coffee!

3rd Select Sunday....Introducing Rita

This week I'd like to introduce Rita.

We are both lucky to live in a beautiful 

coastal part of Scotland, but as you can see

Rita is even closer to the sea than me....

it's right at the bottom of her garden.

Rita HELPS me out big style at Hope Jacare's

new adventure back into the world

of dying / felt making and creative textiles.

She helps with many different things but she

loves to spin.

I can not tell you how exciting it is when Rita goes home with

a big fluffy batt of carded hand dyed fibres

and comes back with a wonderful yarn.

As Jacob would say - "Epic"

You will find Rita's yarns make an appearance

in a lot of our luxury creativity packs

and luxury felt making packs.

I can also let you into a wee secret about Rita

she has alot of spinning wheels!

I think it's a bit of an addiction...lol....

Happy 3rd Birthday Stitch Bear Stamps!

Almost forgot! It's the 3rd Birthday at SBS

definitely something to celebrate.

I have sold my digi stamps there since the very early days

so from me a huge thank you to Stitch

and all the DT at OSAAT, you do a fantastic job!

Oh yes and there is a 1/3rd off all images to celebrate!

Felting!

Yesterday spent a happy day wet felting pieces

for the cardwell craft show next sunday.

as always a merino base with added hand dyed

silks, mohair(you get great hairy bits!)

 and bfl locks.

Special order....

One of my favourite things is making up special requests

and this afternoon I made up a needle felting pack

for a lovely customer that I hope will be appearing

 in my select Sunday slot in a few weeks time. 

It had lots of lovely things in it and I can wait to see

what it needle felts into......

In case anyone is interested my craft room clear out 

this week is some Copic Various ink refills

and the tweezers to remove the nibs.

Playing with colour....

Lots of playing with colour this week.

Alas the weather hadn't been good enough to dry

dying outside on my washing line,

so it's back to the radiators.

silk chiffon, habotai silk , silk dupion

raw silk yarn, chunky, thick and thin, 

Wensleydale locks.

But the sun did show an appearance for me to photograph

the large silk squares I had dyed.....

Introducing........Select Sunday no.1 Suzanne Martin

 I am soooooo amazed by  the wonderful creations

that crafts people share with me.

I have decided to start doing a regular post - Select Sunday.

This is not my work but I think it should be shared

This will be different people that use my hand dyed fibres

and fabrics and what they create with them.

Suzanne and I have known one another a long time

(right back to school days)

And she is still local enough that she can come by the studio

and hand pick her own fibres to create her wonderful pieces.

So far Suzanne isn't on Folksy 

but I don't think it will be long!
