Busy week.....Mum and Dad's Birthday

I feel a bit like this cat this week.....It's just going to be one of those weeks!
Spent a lovely early Birthday celebration today with my Mum and Dad - Hi folks!
My parents share a birthday - how strange is that.....have to add that on the 2nd of October
my Mum will be a mere 68 years young

Whereas my Dad has reached the big 70! Can't see it very well on his card - it's that pesky acetate again, so hard to get a decent photo.

We were celebrating early today as we will be heading South on their Birthday. Reuben's Grandparents will be celebrating 70 years of Marriage - how wonderful is that. They are 95 and 94 and haven't yet met our youngest two children, so it will be a special party and we decided we should make the trip to Henley on Thames - rather a long way with 3 children 6 ,4 and 2!

No Backing Paper is the challenge at C.R.A.F.T. - my husband said "try making an acetate card."...he's full of good ideas is Reuben! But then he doesn't have to photograph them! The card is lovely and very tactile but the photos don't do it justice.

We are lucky to have The Crafty Pad as sponsors this week and I have used one of Debbies stamps to make my card. Printed on acetate - coloured with Sakura glaze, stickles and some snowflake diecuts.

The lucky winner will recieve Percy Stargazing - such a cute image....

Crafty Creations Challenge - Windows

Over at Crafty Creations this week the challenge is Windows! It is my turn to host and set the challenge, so on a selfish move on my part I went for windows. We live in a late 1920's house which still has some original glass work which I have wanted to do some work with for a while.

We have a Glasgow rose style stained glass pain in both bay windows to the front of the house - one a 5 panelled squared bay and the other a five panelled round bay. We also have a textured glass front door - I have combined both for my DT project.

The prize this week as chosen by Random generator is my project card below and the digital image used to create it-Rose Window.

Paper piecing, copics, crackle glaze, glossy accents and Sakura stardust!

New shop and blog candy!

This post will stay at the top until the candy is drawn.... At last I hear you say Keryn (amongst others)! Thanks for all your encouragement to do something with my doodles. And before another year passes thought I'd get me act in gear and at least take the easy option - with secure payment methods - and go for a shop at Shophandmade. It's my Birthday tomorrow 39 years young......so if I don't do it now It will be next year and I'll be 40 and still thinking about it!

As a little thanks for anyone who would like to do a wee linky thing to spread the word I will have some candy thought I ! What would you like....mmmmm!

Since it went down well last time I was thinking a personal doodle. You give me a theme and I will create you a digi image and also send you the coloured original - so it's all yours!

Please just provide a wee link to this post to spread the word and leave me a comment to let me know . Also if there is anything that you are looking for I will add it to my ever growing list of things to doodle! I will try to work out how to keep this post at the top and it will end on the 19th September.

Thanks again for all your encouragement and taking the time to blog hop in my direction.

Polkadoodles Challenge 18 - Make your own flowers....

The challenge this week at Polkadoodles is to make your own flowers! What fun I had with this. I have used the new doodles stamps to create flowers by heat embossing acetate and colouring with Sakura Glaze.
Then layered with eyelet in centre. Made wire stems and leaves with a glass bead as flower centre.

Background of card is stamped with doodles stamps and I have used candy doodle cd for paper to cut 50 and alphas in circles. The flowers each have their own vase made from bendy section of a straw.
Added doodley details to finnish.

If you are heat embossing on acetate - you need heat resistant acetate - I bought mine from Donnas Den its made by Crafters Companion.

Congratulations to the winners from challenge 16 (spots and stripes) :

3rd place - Dolly
2nd place - Aud Cards
Winner - Aunty Nonie
