C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - Decoupage

This week over at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge -

The challenge is to create a piece of decoupage - I had just recieved my Bloom and Grow Decoupage book ( http://www.jasmine-cards.co.uk/ )and I have to say I was very impressed. Beautiful papers and texture (some are embossed) I also recieved the button/ribbon box - yum!

I have created some decoupaged flowers that clip over thank you notes - yes still making thank you's for Hope's Birthday pressies.

Very simple to do - added a little ink to edges of die-cuts - set pipecleaner through middle of flower with an eyelet. Bent pipecleaner back to create stem and tendril.

Cut a small notelet from Bloom and Grow co-ordinating paper. Shaped petals of flower with scissors and they easily slot over the top of notelet.
Look what you could win.....lots of goodies.......come play with us at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge

Abigails Dedication

My close friend Vicky has asked me to make her a card for her niece Abigail's Dedication.
She gave me the wording she wished encorporated and I have based the card around that.
The image of The Good Shepherd I have hand drawn and then decoupaged after printing on a selection of papers.
I rarely work on any biblical imagery but have thoroughly enjoyed making this card.
I was thrilled to be asked recently to be Vicky and Scott's youngest child -
James's Godmother ( later in August).
The challenge on Trimcraft at the moment is for a card with a quote/saying so
I have entered it into that.

Colour Create - 70th Barbara

The colour range over at colour create this week is pink, pistachio and aqua - Basic Grey's Euphoria range is perfect!
I have used a mixture of hand cut and die cut pieces to create this with some ink thrown in for good measure.
It's a lovely colour pallette to work with - didn't include the extra option of buttons as I liked the simple circles for flower centres.

I have pieced them together for my view through a porthole.

The Background paper is a lovely painted wood effect K&Co paper.

Porthole silver and turquoise card cut on the Pazzles.

Printed acetate for porthole window, Screw head brads and Basic Grey lettering.

Buddies - Jenna and Ruth

At our primary school we have a buddy system.
One of the primary seven children looks after one of the new starts - this was a request from Jenna's Mum for Jenna's buddy Ruth. It's a great idea and I know how much Jacob adored his buddy last year.

Jean is leaving...

Largs pre-school is having a wee do next week as our head of pre-school is retiring......not sure that I can really say that actually as she is going to be looking after her grandchildren!
Jean has been with pre-school more than 25 years, I knew Jean when I was a little girl and have worked with her as part of the nursery comittee for the past 4 years.

This is a special card for a special lady!
Crate papers again - similar to the card I made for Hope's birthday - I loved doing those letters!
Also getting quite addicted to my leaf clusters.
Some additional velvet ribbon and great gem brads!

Polkadoodles Sketch

Fab sketch and amazing freebies over at polkadoodles this week!

I had a wee card to do for a party that Caleb is going to on Saturday and this just fitted the bill.
Polka doodles are giving some great down loads free this week and I have used some of them in my entry.....they asked if we could incorporate an orange spotty paper which I have paper pieced into their fab bird and flower digi stamps (also free)
.
My bird house is free standing with a fold at base.

Colour added using Sakura. Flowers layered with eyelet to secure. Flourish leaves at top of bird house also secured with eyelet.

Had great fun doing this - sorry the photo doesn't do it justice - pop over to polkadoodles and have a look at their fab DT cards.

More Fathers day cards....

I have had quite a few requests for Fathers Day cards for friends....
I am trying to use up bits and bobs of paper as my scraps boxes are overflowing, so first card does just that without cutting into any new sheets.
This card uses one of the fairytale DCWV 8x8 printed papers and the rest are cut from coredinations whitewash using pazzles then inked.

For a golfer....like the background on this using offcuts of Basic Grey Granola with doodling.
Grass is handcut from some adhesive velvet paper.

I am just loving the Crate papers and die cuts at the mo - Orbit -added some googley eyes to the alien and some dimension to the backing with a little layering....
Off now to get my head round a Banjo request card!
