Abigails Dedication

My close friend Vicky has asked me to make her a card for her niece Abigail's Dedication.
She gave me the wording she wished encorporated and I have based the card around that.
The image of The Good Shepherd I have hand drawn and then decoupaged after printing on a selection of papers.
I rarely work on any biblical imagery but have thoroughly enjoyed making this card.
I was thrilled to be asked recently to be Vicky and Scott's youngest child -
James's Godmother ( later in August).
The challenge on Trimcraft at the moment is for a card with a quote/saying so
I have entered it into that.

Colour Create - 70th Barbara

The colour range over at colour create this week is pink, pistachio and aqua - Basic Grey's Euphoria range is perfect!
I have used a mixture of hand cut and die cut pieces to create this with some ink thrown in for good measure.
It's a lovely colour pallette to work with - didn't include the extra option of buttons as I liked the simple circles for flower centres.

Porthole card - Caardvarks

The challenge over at Caardvarks is a window card - go take a visit - very inspirational DT work.

My friend Lesley had asked me to make a card for her husband Ronnie who is a keen sailor.

So a porthole card seemed like a good idea!

I recently recieved some fab sea themed fabrics as a prize from Ingrids Kaarten.

I have pieced them together for my view through a porthole.

The Background paper is a lovely painted wood effect K&Co paper.

Porthole silver and turquoise card cut on the Pazzles.

Printed acetate for porthole window, Screw head brads and Basic Grey lettering.

Jean's thank you plaque

The staff asked me if I could do a wee thank you plaque for Jean's contribution to nursery
- we are having a party Tuesday evening. All the parents are doing the buffet between them - should be fun.....
I used mostly Basic Grey Euphoria range for this with some additional die cut leaves.

Buddies - Jenna and Ruth

At our primary school we have a buddy system.
One of the primary seven children looks after one of the new starts - this was a request from Jenna's Mum for Jenna's buddy Ruth. It's a great idea and I know how much Jacob adored his buddy last year.
Gorjuss girls with Basic Grey papers and some doodling in Sakura.

Jean is leaving...

Largs pre-school is having a wee do next week as our head of pre-school is retiring......not sure that I can really say that actually as she is going to be looking after her grandchildren!
Jean has been with pre-school more than 25 years, I knew Jean when I was a little girl and have worked with her as part of the nursery comittee for the past 4 years.

This is a special card for a special lady!
Crate papers again - similar to the card I made for Hope's birthday - I loved doing those letters!
Also getting quite addicted to my leaf clusters.
Some additional velvet ribbon and great gem brads!

Polkadoodles Sketch

Fab sketch and amazing freebies over at polkadoodles this week!

I had a wee card to do for a party that Caleb is going to on Saturday and this just fitted the bill.
Polka doodles are giving some great down loads free this week and I have used some of them in my entry.....they asked if we could incorporate an orange spotty paper which I have paper pieced into their fab bird and flower digi stamps (also free)
.
My bird house is free standing with a fold at base.

Colour added using Sakura. Flowers layered with eyelet to secure. Flourish leaves at top of bird house also secured with eyelet.

Had great fun doing this - sorry the photo doesn't do it justice - pop over to polkadoodles and have a look at their fab DT cards.

Banjo playing Grandpa....

Happy Fathers day - Grandpa with a banjo...
A request for a friend whos dad has started playing the banjo.
Using Basic Grey Archaic papers and coredination with some sticky back
galvanized effect silver paper. Some inking and Sakura doodles to finnish.

Sunday 14 June 2009

More Fathers day cards....

I have had quite a few requests for Fathers Day cards for friends....
I am trying to use up bits and bobs of paper as my scraps boxes are overflowing, so first card does just that without cutting into any new sheets.
This card uses one of the fairytale DCWV 8x8 printed papers and the rest are cut from coredinations whitewash using pazzles then inked.

For a golfer....like the background on this using offcuts of Basic Grey Granola with doodling.
Grass is handcut from some adhesive velvet paper.

I am just loving the Crate papers and die cuts at the mo - Orbit -added some googley eyes to the alien and some dimension to the backing with a little layering....
Off now to get my head round a Banjo request card!

This weeks Challenge is a Shopping list - 3 flowers, 2 papers and 1 ribbon

I have used flower elements stickers from Basic Greys Euphoria range and a
hand drawn one in centre.

Papers again from the Euphoria range.

Ribbon for the stem and leaves of centre flower is DCWV.

The image Daisy is one of my own doodles which I have used a few times recently - need to get pen to paper soon......

Thanks so much to Debbie at the Crafty Pad for sponsoring this challenge and for giving us one of her fab stamps as a prize....

Caard Varks - Depth perception - Ann 60th

The Challenge at the moment at Caard Varks is Depth Perception!
My friend Ann is having a 60 th Birthday get together this week - Friday to be precise,
so really about time to make a card! I am loving the little sprout range from Crate Papers -
so fresh and fun!
I have made this up as a large A4 card using little sprout papers and some glittered chipboard shapes from the collection pack. Die cut ANN and 60 and layered with coredinations whitewash.
ANN is mounted onto a separate piece of printed acetate which just sits onto top of card.
It's hard to show in photo but sits out from card for an effective layered effect.

I also diecut some leaves from the off cut of crate paper - inked the edges and curved before attaching around letters and numbers. Added a few extra little owls cut from printed Crate paper....

Carrie Carrot - 40 th Birthday

An unusual request for a carrot themed 40th card!
Zoe and Carrie apparently in their youth decided to grow some carrots - only one grew - they had a party to celebrate! Students.......

The tag at the back is for the message and it slips inside the little house.
I have used orange glitter card, Basic Grey Lime Rickey papers and some pearlescent dark green card. Some eyelets, wire and ribbons.
