Crafty Creations Challenge 33 - tea and coffee

This week at Crafty creations the challenge is Tea /Coffee.
I decided to make a set of atc's with a tea theme.
I have used a vintage illustration of a tea plant and made little tea bags from polly pockets to hold mini versions of picture with a little ribbon and a hand written sentiment.
They attach to the atcs wrapped round a large fancy eyelet/snap by We are Memory Keepers.
All attaching of papers to atcs is done with coloured staples and inking and doodling to finnish.
Thanks so much to our sponsor this week Annaandbella
The lucky winner will recieve this stamp!

I really enjoyed visiting all your creations last week - looking forward to seeing what you get upto this week!
Pssst! Liz these are my atcs for the Drayton swap this month.......

Craft Creations Challenge 32 - Embossing and a special request

My DT card this week for Crafty Creations is for a nurse for her 40th Birthday. I have Used Basic Grey papers, Some embossing on silver foil to create the sentiment, some clear faux stich heat embossing on edges of card for added detail. I have used alpha brads for name, papermania ribbons and some red cross brads from stash.
This week we also have a special request!
(the next part is copied from Crafty Creations Blog)

Ann made this card for a young 13 yr old girl who had part of her arm amputated after a boating accident. You can find her story HERE on her neighbor Erin's blog. This girl's neighbor has taken it upon herself to seek out fellow cardmakers like us, to make a card for Paige, and she is offering up blog candy just for helping cheer up this sweet girl! If you could send a card to Paige it would mean so much!! Also, here is what we will do; if you wish to make this week's challenge card for Paige and you let us know, then we will put your name in the draw for this week's blog candy twice! Thanks everyone!!

This is the fantastic prize being offered by Deena this week - well worth a go I'd say and it would be lovely if anyone can also create a card for Paige. Thankyou x

Steve's Birthday card for a painter

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE
I was absolutely thrilled to be asked by my first follower - Keryn - to make a birthday card for her husband Steve. I have to say probably as you all know there is somewhat more challenge making a card for another cardmaker and how much did I enjoy this challenge!
Steve is a keen painter so the request was for a painter themed card.
I used a gatefold card base with matts of Basic grey papers all inked at edges.
The easel and the brush was designed on my pazzles and then cut out using Crate papers, layered for depth and all edges inked.
The canvas on the easel was made with grungeboard painted with crackle paint for a distressed/aged effect.
The images are Basic Grey rubons added to the canvas.
The easel is attached to the left hand side of card, the brush and some additional paint splats are attached to the right hand side of card.
Two eyelets are set on easel with ribbon to tie card closed. I made a small palette cut by hand with sakura details and set with eyelets to make a closure for the card.
Crate paper alpha stickers were used for sentiment.
I am entering this into the Spoon full of sugar challenge which is distressing. I have used a distressing effect with the crackle paint on the canvas and the background papers used are distressed.
Thanks again Keryn for the challenge...

James 1st Birthday - Allsorts

Last night and this morning I spent making a picture for my Godson James's 1st Birthday this week. I asked Vicky her preference - James does like Thomas already - so Thomas it is. Have to admit I was most of the way through it when I realised I hadn't put James( one of the other engines) besides Thomas as i'd thought!
That will have to wait for his Christmas pressie!
It's ideal for Allsorts Challenge this week - something for the men/boy's.
I used a picture of Thomas and paperpieced alot of it then added detail with copics.
Background are Basic Grey papers which I think worked really well.
Pop over and have a look at the fab prize they are giving away this week and some great DT cards....

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 15 - something other than a card......

This week our sponsor is Donnas Den and its a great prize ....come join us!

My good intentions of making a mirror for my C.R.A.F.T DT contribution this challenge fell by the wayside. So instead I did a little tissuetex - this is something I often do for fundraisers at nursery/school and normally goes down well. Great for decorating floating candle bowls.
Blank bottles from IKEA - water down some P.V.A. and tear up your tissue( brain is not working this morning - but it's the type with fibres through) . Apply pva to bottle, stick on tissue and apply more pva on top of tissue to smooth out. Leave overnight to dry and then I like to add stickles or details with glass outliner.

These are the fab prizes supplied by our sponsor Donnas Den this week....

Crafty Creations Challenge - 3 or more patterned papers!

This weeks challenge at Crafty Creations is to use 3 or more patterned papers.   I am still appologising for terrible photos (bad workmen and all that) this time down to lack of daylight, too much rain and a huge amount of glitter card! I had two special birthday cards to create and both wanted lots of glitter....
I have used a Black sparkly card base. The amazing new Papermania handmade glitter papers as the first layer for my 40th and 18th numbers and names. DCWV Pocket full of posies printed papers - again with glitter for top layers of numbers and names. Some fabric flowers with gem brads as centres. Lots of off cuts of My Minds eye papers as larger butterflies. Some diecut handcoloured leather flowers with gem brads as centres . On the 18th the 'Daughter' is some Papermania resin alpha stickers. So lots of bling to add to the photography problems.....anyway enough of my moans! Come play with us - it's Wednesday and the time is right to get crafty once again. We love to see any type of project created for our challenges, so come on join in and you could win......lots of crafting basic goodies yum!

On your Anniversary - Copic Creations

This weeks challenge at Copic Creations is red , pink, white and hearts. I had a couple of Anniversary cards to make. The second one is for the challenge. I doodled an image and printed it on white Bristol board and some patterned papers that I think are Creative imaginations. I then paper pieced them and coloured with copics. Layered onto another patterned paper and doodled round edges. I have then added a toggle fastening - heart shapped with ribbons and secured to card with eyelets. So sorry about the quality of my photos at present but there is no - sunlight here - hope it will return soon......
