This week I have been de-gumming and dying

silk filature.

Wonderful fine silk fiber.

Also some lovely vintage de-gummed silk filature waste below.

Hope to get this on to ebay over the weekend.

Also been melting glass.

Happy 9th Birthday Caleb!

Caleb is 9 today!

He chose seafood paella for Birthday tea

and I was forewarned he wanted squid rings

in it.......he does make me laugh!

He was very lucky to win his birthday cake

in the Kelburn Primary Christmas fair raffle.

So a big thanks to VIKING CUPCAKES

who created this wonderful tool themed

cake........and it was yummy!

Lovely NEW silk mix pre-felt and some ribbon/thread and NEW silk strings....

This beautiful pre felt is a fine almost

cobweb weight and is 20% silk/80% merino

just glorious!

Also been working today on silk ribbon and thread packs

with NEW hand stitched silk strings......

great for jewellery.

I know it may be slightly mad.....but new computer blues!

First the good stuff from this week.

Lovely felting pack for another lovely customer.

Then some "Woodland"  themed locks

and yummy mulberry silk.

I have at last had to give in and buy a new computer.

I don't like to moan....but oh my it's been a struggle.

Trying to learn how to work on the new(to me) Windows 8 format

and it's taken me a whole day to access my blog, I am that bad!

I am trying to be positive but its hard going......

Latest Jellyfish bead......and lots of silk dying.

Have been playing this week with more jellyfish.

This is the latest and I also made stringers

containing gold leaf to decorate top section.

Also been dying mulberry and tussah silk top......oh so lovely!

Happy 40th Birthday Angus......glass boat picture

So I made him a wee glass boat picture.

Going to his for birthday cake after picking kids up from school.

We have been busy making up some

new lock packs for the ebay store this morning.

Studio tidy time.....it's a new year!

2014 had to see a more organized tidy studio

...well for a few days any way!

So this week besides a catch up on all the holiday order,

and there were quite a few.

I have been cleaning and organizing studio areas.

These are the boxes we keep all our packs for

 ebay store and Folksy shop in.

Desk space ..... not often much space on this.

They have gone to their new homes today so I can share.

The beautiful felt vessel they are hanging from is

by the wonderful Jenny Pepper.

I created some felt pebbles then created some

 little glass snowmen to live on them.

With button hat and a bell at the base.

Their stripy scarves are some lovely twisties by

Frit n chips on Etsy.

What have I been upto this week....?

Also creating felt making packs for a customer up north!

Oh yes......and working on a special card!

Day out at Kelburn

Such a lovely day on Sunday we

headed to Kelburn Country centre

for a wee walk.
