Unfortunately with all that's been going on I have

not managed to work with this weeks sponsors images.

But I did have a card ready that

was suitable for the challenge.

At last something using the feather embellishments

I had so much fun making.

Along with some lovely cream heart ribbon and

a thank you teacher ribbon sentiment.

You can see we have quite a few teachers to thank!

I used a lovely stamp that I believe were in amongst some goodies

I was lucky enough to win from fellow blogger Brenda a while back

Woolfest 2012 ...a great day out

I am afraid I didn't take my camera so these are website photo's for

WOOLFEST

in Cumbria! I went with my friends Vicky and 

on Saturday and it was brilliant.

Some of you may know I am a textiles graduate originally

specialising in spinning, knitting and felting.

I cannot tell you what a fabulous day this was.

(Rose I thought of you alot!)

If you ever get a chance it's well worth the visit.

It was a 6hr round trip for us but worth every minute spent in the car.

Lovely animals, wonderful knitwear, yarn, felt, fibre artists.

Loads and loads of fabulous creative fibre suppliers

and wonderful artists.

It really was what I was needing to lift the spirits.

Caleb and the holidays....

Thanks so much for all your well wishes and kind e-mails. All went well with Caleb's exploratory op last Tuesday...just a few days to recover (probably more for Reuben and I than Caleb) I can't say how fabulous the staff are at Yorkhill, so thoughtful and everything seems to run so smoothly.
Anyway it sounds like we will be seeing alot of the place over the next wee while as already have further appointments this week and next week.

We are mad busy with the run up to school finishing for Summer on Friday. So it's that time of year for thank you teacher cards. So that's what I have to share today for Calebs teacher Mr O'Neil who has been just fab for Caleb this year and very supportive with the extra help he has needed.

We were at the school show last week - it was brilliant.

Each class took a decade and did two songs.

Mr O'Neil starred as a Beatnik, apparently

many of the younger teachers had never heard 

of a Beatnik....I am guessing the same went for

many of the parents as well - but he was fab!

An update on Caleb!

Some of you know my middle child Caleb has been unwell for a wee while and to be frank its been a long list of lost notes and cancelled appointments and major frustration for him and us. We finally saw the surgical team at Yorkhill today - the children's hospital in Glasgow. He is going in at 7.30a.m. tomorrow for a little exploritory op so hopefully we will have more idea soon of what can be done to help. I don't think that it will stop me from making cards but if I am not around much......I'll be back. xx So glad they are just getting on with it and not giving us too much time to think!

Been working on some embellishments.....lots of fun!

I have been playing this week making 

some feather vintage style embellishments.

I'm having a bit of a doodling block at the moment.

Don't like to be idle though, so have been

having a good old play!

Great fun! 

Feathers are amazing things....the colours

are just wonderful!

Hopefully back soon with them used in a creation!

Polka Doodles...a summer scene

I was so sad to miss Nikky/Rosemary Merry last week

with the new Polka Doodles

studio 12 release, although I believe it was

a pretty brief show as it sold out soooooooo quickly.

It really is full of the most amazing yumminess!

That can be used alongside many digital

graphics programmes and even has

included cutting files .

Anyway this was one of my show samples.

We have had a really fun weekend

in Largs and Girvan!

They all seemed to have a great time

Hope was very proud of the seahorse

she painted.

Today we were off to Grannies and Grandpa's

in Girvan for more party celebrations.

She insisted on dressing for the occasion!

(so not like her mum - I'm more

a jeans and t-shirt girl!)

Polka Doodles ...going very regal.....red, white and blue

I have combined the great checkerboard

paper from Not For Girls cd and the

Christmas bunting from the Winter Wonderland cd's.

Also I have used some wonderful round playing

cards I found on ebay with those great printed

cogs on the back. Textured gold card to layer onto

and edge my bunting which reads

'Glorious Years'

We are going to a Jubilee party on Tuesday

so it's just perfect for the host!

A wee bit personal...no pun intended.

I think it would be fair to say lately my heart hasn't been in blogging. I know through so many of the lovely people that I have met through blog land that folks lives are full of complications. A lot of us use our craft as stress release and I know for me when I don't have time to make cards life just isn't the same.
Anyhow I hope having at last received an appointment for middle child Caleb at Yorkhill (the children's hospital in Glasgow) that things will get a little easier. We discovered at Christmas that Caleb's toileting problems were not habitual as originally believed but medical. What happened after that has been a roller coaster that seemed to only be heading downwards. Hopefully now it's on its way back up ......
Maybe I'll be a better blogger soon but if not please bear with me and normal service will eventually resume!

My Favourite technique.....dedication card!

Quite unusual for me to use only rubber

to create a card.

However this best sums up my most favourite techniques

- Paper piecing and colouring.

I love them both in equal amounts so this card

was a joy to create.
